RACHAKONDA: Rachakonda Commissioner of Police DS Chauhan on Tuesday conducted a review meeting with traffic police officials to review measures taken to minimise road accidents within the commissionerate.

Addressing the meeting, DS Chauhan highlighted the measures being implemented and the significant success achieved in reducing road accidents. He said that they were taking steps to provide emergency medical assistance to those injured in road mishaps.

Stating that cash rewards were being given to staff who saved lives in road accidents, DS Chauhan asked the police officials to initiate strict action against vehicles found without number plates. He informed that cases had already been registered against 60,000 vehicles with fake number plates in the past six months.

The Rachakonda Police Commissioner said that they were also taking safety precautions for the traffic police by providing safety equipment besides providing AC helmets, laptops, jungle shoes, water bottles, jackets and LED batons. He expressed gratitude to the State Government for their support in allocating a budget of Rs 2 crore for the safety of the traffic police.
