Family away for wedding, house burgled of Rs 11-lakh worth valuables in Jawahar Nagar

HYDERABAD: A massive theft took place at a house in Saket Colony Phase 1-16B of Jawahar Nagar in Hyderabad when the inmates were away performing the wedding of a family member. The house was burgled of caluables including gold jewellery, silver and laptops, in all worth Rs Rs 11 lakhs.

The assailants reportedly gained their entry inside by breaking open the rear door and stole Rs gold chains weighing six tolas and worth Rs 3.72 lakh, five kg of silver costing Rs 3.75 lakh, laptops worth Rs 3 lakh besides Rs 10,000 cash. The burglars also attempted in vain to steal a Bullet vehicle parked in the front.

The inmates of the house, who came back home at 1 am on Saturday after performing the wedding of their family member, were shocked to see the back door broken and the house ransacked. They lodged a complaint with the police about the theft. The police registered a case and the investigation is on.
