HYDERABAD: In a bizarre incident, a software employee who owns a flat in an apartment complex was locked up, along with his family members, under Kukatpally police station limits.

What triggered the duel between the duo is about a car parking in the apartment complex, Nayan’s Nature Serene. The software engineer, Jaya Prakash, had purchased a flat from another owner three years ago and got two car parks as part of the package.

Later, he was rescued by the apartment association members and he addressed media about the incident and lodged a police complaint about the attack.

He told media: “My name is Jaya Prakash. I am a software employee. I am living in Flat No. G 13 since April 2021. I purchased this flat three years ago from one Mr Venkata Rao. Ever since I have been living here and I have two car parks. One Jaswanth Rao, claiming to be one of the landlords, on Sunday night questioned me as to who had given me two car parks and demanded over a phone call that I show the registration documents.

“I told him I had no reason to show the documents to him and told him to contact the person who had sold the flat to me and discuss. Next day he came and tried to attack me with a slipper and even as I was trying to evade him, he got his driver and the person, who had sold the flat to me, and locked my house. My wife, two children and my 80-year-old grandmother and myself were there in the house. And, we were locked up in the house and they had left.”

Even the apartment dwellers and association members strongly condemned the attack and atrocious behaviour of Jaswanth Rao and his accomplices.

People are worried as to who to complain and who would go to the rescue of such hapless victims, for police may not take cognizance of civil issues. They only register a criminal case against the assailants with regard to the alleged attack.
