HYDERABAD: Vivekanand, grandson of former Chief Minister K Rosaiah, and two others have been arrested by police after conducting a raid on Radisson Hotel in Gachibowli.

On a tip off that a rave party is happening at the hotel on the midnight of Sunday.

Vivekanand is the son of businessman G Yoganand who is also a BJP leader who had contested on behalf of the party in Serilingampally Assembly constituency earlier.

The police seized cocaine from their possession and are subjecting the accused persons to medical tests to confirm the use of drugs.

Cases will be registered after the report of the drug tests on them.

Hyderabad has become a hotbed of drug abuse and the special operations teams and TSNAB are confiscating huge quantities of drugs and narcotic substances.

The Cyberabad police in a statement said the three persons arrested by the special operations team of Cyberabad-Gachibowli police, which conducted the raid, included: Gajjala Vivekanand, 37, Director of Manjeera Group of companies, Syed Abbas Ali Jeffery, Nirbhay, Kedhar and another person.

The police seized used plastic covers of Cocaine (each of one gram before consumption).

Based on further information, the police teams visited the house of Gajjala Vivekanand at Jubilee Hills and brought him to police station. On interrogation, he disclosed that he organised a party for his friends at his hotel room with cocaine. He was sent for medical examinations in which he had tested positive for the drug consumption.

The case is under investigation for identifying the drug peddlers and other consumers in this case.
