Hold grand celebrations on Telangana Integration Day on September 17: KTR

HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday urged the party cadre to hold huge celebrations for Telangana Integration Day, which would be celebrated on September 17, 2023.

He said that Telangana (Hyderabad) State united with the Indian Union on this day, and the Telangana Government had already decided to observe this day as Telangana Integration Day.

KTR said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao would attend the festivities in Hyderabad. He said that the Telangana government would extravagantly organise the events in all district headquarters, and that the ministers would hoist the national flag. He invited the BRS party cadre to join in the festivities and make them a huge success.

KTR said that in the ten years since the foundation of the Telangana state, the Telangana Government had effectively implemented several welfare initiatives and innovative programmes which had promoted development in the region, making Telangana a successful model in the country.

"A few political parties, with their vicious agendas, attempt to politicise every topic. They want to rub religion on everything to disturb communal harmony, and I appeal to the people to be careful with such political parties," said KTR. He added that these political parties have ulterior motives and make Telangana Integration Day Day a political issue.

Telangana was merged into the Indian Union on September 17, 1948. Telangana transitioned from a monarchy to a democracy on this historic day. KTR said that the remarkable sacrifices made by those who fought in the agitation would live on in Telangana people's memories and inspire them. He said that we must recognise and honour the unsung heroes who fought for our cause.

KTR said that the Telangana society is filled with great intellect and has proved its intellectual capacity in achieving Telangana State. "I appeal to the people of Telangana to act in the same spirit in further protecting the State by rejecting the cunning and corrupt efforts of malicious political forces," he added.
