Hottest day in Telangana, temperature hits 46.4 C degree

Mahabubabad and Khammam districts recorded 45.4 degrees Celsius, while Nalgonda and Suryapet districts recorded 45.2 degrees

HYDERABAD: Telangana state witnessed the hottest day of the year till date on Wednesday. Marking the peak of summer, Bhadradri - Kothagudem set a new record with 46.4°C degrees on May 17, 2023.

According to Telangana Weatherman, severe heat continues in Telangana for the 5th consecutive day and Julurpad in Bhadradri - Kothagudem recorded 46.4°C whereas Khairtabad in Hyderabad too recorded 41.6°C on Wednesday.

Mahabubabad and Khammam districts recorded 45.4 degrees Celsius, while Nalgonda and Suryapet districts recorded 45.2 degrees. Khairatabad in Hyderabad had the highest temperature (41.6 degrees), Serilingampally had 41.3 degrees, and Kukatpally had 40.5 degrees on Wednesday.

Rayalaseema hottest in Andhra Pradesh

The Southern part of Andhra Pradesh state experienced the highest temperatures on Wednesday, with districts such as Tirupati and Nellore hitting 45°C and beyond. Other districts, including Kadapa, Nandyal, and Annamayya, had temperatures near to 45 degrees. Temperatures in coastal Andhra Pradesh, including Vijayawada, were currently in the 43-44 C range, as expected.
