HYDERABAD: The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) awarded Hyderabad Cybercrime Inspector K Haribhushan third prize at the national conference for State Cyber Nodal Officers on Friday.

A case was registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Hyderabad for the swindling of Rs.12.48 crore from the Andhra Pradesh Mahesh Co-Operative Urban Bank Ltd by unknown hackers.

The Cybercrime police of Hyderabad were successful in freezing an amount of Rs. 2,08,55,536 before it was withdrawn from ATMs, and another sum of Rs.1,08,48,990 was reverted back to the AP Mahesh Co-op Urban Bank in this case.

Cybercrime police arrested a total of (27) people across the country, including four (04) Nigerian nationals, while another sixteen (16) people were served with 41(A) Cr.P.C. notices in this case.

Investigation officer K.Haribhushana Rao presented the investigation of a cyber crime case at the 3rd National Conference for State Cyber Nodal officers in New Delhi among (19) different case study presentations from various States/UTs.

The presentation given by Cybercrime inspector K.Haribhushana Rao, on the investigation in the AP Mahesh Co-Operative Urban Bank case was awarded third prize for the state of Telangana.

Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand hailed and congratulated the Inspector and his team for the award and the team's effective hard work in solving the case.
