Hyderabad Mecca Masjid Imam Hafiz Maulana passes away

HYDERABAD: Hafiz Maulana Muhammad Usman Naqshbandi, Imam of Hyderabad Mecca Masjid, died in the early hours of Saturday from age-related complications.

Hafiz Maulana, an Islamic scholar, was over 70 years old. Following the funeral, prayers would be offered at Mecca Masjid on Saturday evening.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed his condolences on the death of Hafiz Maulana Muhammad Usman Naqshbandi, Imam of Hyderabad Mecca Masjid and Islamic scholar.

The services of Imam, who worked for almost 50 years, were lauded by the Chief Minister. KCR recalled Maulana's efforts and his friendship with the late Islamic scholar dating back to the Telangana agitation.

The Chief Minister prayed to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed his heartfelt sympathies to bereaved family members.
