HYDERABAD: Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar on Tuesday announced that the maximum speed limit on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) had been increased from the present limit of 100 km/hour to 120 km/hour.

In a tweet, Arvind Kumar made the announcement following a decision in this regard was taken at a review meeting headed by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao. The Special Chief Secretary instructed the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to ensure that all necessary safety protocols were put in place for the jump in speed limit.

The ORR is a 158-km-long eight-lane access-controlled freeway with four lanes on each side. Previously, the maximum speed limit was 100 kmph on the first two lanes and 80 kmph on the third and fourth lanes.
