Hyderabad police file criminal case against BJP MP Navneet Rana for provocative remarks

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad city police have filed a criminal case against BJP MP Navneet Rana at Saidabad police station for her incendiary remarks made during a public meeting.

According to the Yakuthpura Assembly segment Flying Squad Team, Navneet Rana made provocative comments in her speech during a BJP public meeting held on May 8, 2024. at Laxmi Garden in Hyderabad.

The BJP leader was reportedly responding to Akbaruddin Owaisi’s 13-years ago remarks, stating, 'If the police remain silent for 15 minutes, we will take on 100 crore.' Similarly, Navneet Rana said that she only needs 15 seconds to act against the Owaisi brothers.

Saidabad Inspector Raghavender registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 505(2), 506, 171(C), 171(F), and 171(G), which address statements that create or promote enmity, hatred, or ill-will between classes, criminal intimidation, and undue influence during elections.
