HYDERABAD: A young man from Hyderabad, Muhammad Asfan, who was fraudulently recruited into the Russian Army, has tragically lost his life in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War.

Muhammad Asfan, a 30-year-old resident of Bazar Ghat, Nampally, Hyderabad, departed for a job in Russia a few months ago, falling victim to a deceitful travel agent. Upon reaching Russia, he, along with several youths from Telangana, was recruited by the Russian government and sent to the war in Ukraine. Reports indicate that Muhammad Asfan met his demise during the conflict.

The Indian Embassy in Moscow has officially confirmed Asfan's death, posting on 'X': "We have learned about the tragic death of an Indian national, Shri Mohammed Asfan. We are in touch with the family and Russian authorities. The Mission will make efforts to send his mortal remains to India. @MEAIndia."

Muhammad Asfan's family, residing in Bazar Ghat, Nampally, discovered the news of his demise through the media.
