HYDERABAD: Indo-American filmmaker and physician Dr Nirmal Joshi, alongside renowned cardiac surgeon Dr Prateek Bhatnagar, who is also the chief cardiac surgeon of Virinchi Hospitals, have announced a new documentary exploring the high prevalence of heart disease among Indians worldwide.
Dr Joshi, currently interviewing leading heart specialists across the globe, is now filming in India for his project titled 'The Brown Heart'. Addressing the media on Thursday, he highlighted the unique susceptibility of Indians to early-onset heart attacks, with 50 per cent occurring before the age of 50 compared to the global average.
Motivated by alarming instances like young individuals succumbing to heart attacks, Dr Joshi aims to raise awareness through 'The Brown Heart'. He emphasized the film's focus on real stories and expert insights, aiming to educate and empower viewers.
