HYDERABAD: "Our children should feel safe and confident drinking tap water that is available 24×7," BRS working president KT Rama Rao said on Wednesday.

KTR said during an interactive session with industrialists at the Park Hotel in Somajiguda, "We have been working in Telangana for the past 9.5 years, and you have all seen our work, but what you have seen is just a trailer, and next you will see the real cinema. Our leader's vision is unrivalled, and his dream for Telangana is to provide drinking water 24×7 and that day will come soon.

KTR recalled his visit to Davos and being surprised to find no drinking water bottles in his hotel room. When he enquired, he was asked to consumed the tap water in his hotel's washrooms, which they usually consume as pure drinking water.

"In the coming years, I'd like to see something in Telangana where our children will feel safe drinking tap water that is available 24-hours. We are confident that we will make it very soon, if not immediately, we will definitely make it happen in Telangana," KTR added.

KTR referred to the race for Chief Minister’s post in Karnataka and instability in Maharashtra and asked if there was no stable government, and how could a State develop and prosper. He added that the industrial sector would be worst affected due to political instability. He said that the stable government and able leadership of Chief Minister KCR was the reason for the companies to move into Telangana from Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

Ten years ago, power outages were not of much concern, but now, everyone questions if they last for ten minutes. People have become so accustomed to 24-hour electricity that they cannot go more than ten minutes without it, indicating that the Telangana government was successful in providing 24-hour electricity, said KTR.

KTR claimed that Congress party leaders from Karnataka claim to provide five hours of electricity in their state, while Telangana State already offers 24-hour electricity.

Telangana State's unique initiative for Building Permission Approval and Self Certification System (TS-bPASS), which ensures quick processing of building permissions, has made it easier to establish new businesses than ever before, he said.

He said that after regaining power in Telangana for the third time, the BRS government would fulfill all industrial demands and requests. The State's industrial development was only possible because of the availability of 24-hours electricity in Telangana, he added.

KTR said that Kaynes Technology - a Mysuru-based company was setting up its unit in Telangana after the BRS government allotted land in 10 days. He also said that the company had initially approached the Congress govt in Karnataka.

He said that the company had appealed for allocation of land but failed to get any assurance from the Karnataka government, and later decided to set up its new unit at Kongara Kalan, impressed with the BRS government’s performance.

KTR highlighted the power crisis in Karnataka and said that the farmers and other sectors were badly affected. KTR added that Chief Minister KCR with a vision had increased the installed power capacity in Telangana from 7,000 MW to 24,000 MW and as a result, there was no power crisis in the State.

“One can compare the performance of the Congress govt, followed by the BJP govt in Karnataka in the last 10 years, and with that of the BRS government’s performance in any sector. Stats will clear many things” KTR said.

Countering Rahul Gandhi’s statement on the BRS party being the B team of BJP, KTR said that the BRS did not have any tie-up with BJP even in the local body elections. “BRS is Telangana people’s ‘A’ team, and nobody’s B team,” he said.

KTR said that there were 13 political parties, which were neither supporting the NDA nor I.N.D.I.A alliance. He added that the Congress and BJP do not want a new party to emerge in the country.

Talking about the opposition parties' comments on corruption in the BRS government, KTR asked who stopped the Union government from taking any action. “If there was corruption or any other irregularities, do you think Prime Minister Narendra Modi would spare us, '' he asked.
