HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched the #GiftASmile campaign five years ago and has made several donations. He has motivated so many enthusiasts including the BRS leaders, elected representatives.

KTR encouraged the party cadre and his supporters not to waste money on gifts such as bouquets and garlands on his birthdays and urged them to spend on things that would bring cheer to the faces of the less fortunate.

BRS leaders donated 108 ambulances, laptops, artificial limbs to the needy, food grains to orphanages and old age homes, hundreds of three-wheeler scooters, got several needy people operated upon for medical needs, helped needy students in pursuit of their higher education, including pilot training and aviation courses, building classrooms, renovating parks by creating landscapes and libraries, cleaning of tanks, poor feeding, donating books and stationery. May the mission continue to thrive for the social good.

Taking to X KTR said “Small gesture may be, but something that made me smile. Sent these to the 3,000 youngsters of 10th grade in my constituency appearing for their board exams. Wishing them all the best,” he said.

One of the many fans of KTR, Pratyush took to X to share something he did just now and that made him happy. “Anna as promised, supported Zohan Khan's cochlear implant surgery. Surgery is done at KIMS Hospital Secunderabad by Cochlear Implant Surgeon Dr Janardhan Rao Jagini and Team, and supported by Chief Audiologist Dr Shiva Prasad Boddupally and my wife Veena Pradeepthi (audiologist & speech therapist)… waiting for your appointment anytime soon to switch on the machine with your hands,” Pratyush wrote and the leader responded without delay saying “So very kind of you Pratyush.
