HYDERABAD: Lawyers burnt the effigy of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Revanth Reddy to protest against the derogatory comments he made against Tanneru Sriranga Rao, former lawyer and current Chairman of Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Board.

The lawyers claimed that Revanth Reddy's remarks, made at Gandhi Bhavan, where he demeaned lawyers by referring to them as pleaders under a tree, deeply offended the legal community. The lawyers said that Revanth Reddy should not forget that they were the ones arguing his note-for-vote case.

The lawyers demanded an apology from Revanth Reddy and warned him of severe consequences if he failed to do so. In response to his remarks, the lawyers pointed out that there was nothing wrong if a lawyer became a chairman, just as a painter became the TPCC Chief.
