Mid-air scare for IAF aircraft, safely lands at Begumpet airport with 12 people on board

After over 40 minutes, the front wheels finally opened and the aircraft landed at the airport. A total of 12 people including the pilot safely ejected from the plane.

HYDERABAD: There was tense 40 minutes for trainee pilots as their training aircraft was unable to land at the Begumpet Airport as it developed a technical snag.

According to reports, when the aircraft was about to land, the hydraulic wheels did not open. As a result, the aircraft kept hovering around the airport.

After over 40 minutes, the front wheels finally opened and the aircraft landed at the airport. A total of 12 people including the pilot safely ejected from the plane.

The Begumpet Airport was earlier notified about the emergency. Officials immediately prepared to tackle a hard landing.

Usually when an aircraft develops a technical snag, a landing would be attempted only after the fuel in the wings gets exhausted.
