HYDERABAD: In response to popular demand for deployment of more policemen to ease choking of traffic between new Yashoda Hospital in HITECH City up to Mindspace complex, Cyberabad police have initiated several measures including posting of manpower to manage the traffic on the road.

Referring to the numerous complaints about choking of the stretch between the new Yashoda Hospital and Mindspace road between 8:30 a.m. and 12 noon, the traffic police officials admitted that vehicular movement would be high to Mindspace from Kukatpally and Yashoda Hospital between 8 am to 12 noon every day. Taking serious note of the matter, the officials decided to post traffic personnel including a constable/home-gaurd and Sector sub-inspector at NIA Junction (Opposite Yashoda Hospital), one PC/HG at 100 feet Junction, two PC/HG at Cyber Towers Junction, one PC/HG at Lemon Tree Junction and also TTF-4 would also be present in the entire area for traffic regulation.

Aimed at addressing the traffic woes of the people in the IT Corridor, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Stephen Ravindra recently conducted a live interaction session with the traffic officials’ team and civil police and the members of Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC).

During the sessions, discussions were held to explore ways to better traffic conditions and reduce commute time for road users. Taking to Twitter, the Cyberabad Traffic Police on Saturday disclosed the details of measures being taken by them in facilitating smooth vehicular movement and minimising disruptions for vehicle users.

Among them, several citizens raised their concern over traffic curbs from the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace Hotel road which connects to Cyber Towers (mainly the road in between the Honda showroom-Ratnadeep Super Market junction and Westin Hotel) due to improper parking done by road users. The traffic team said that due to illegal parking and encroachments from Westin Hotel towards Ratnadeep, the police were conducting special drives regularly and imposing the 39 (b) and 41 CP Act against those parking their vehicles illegally on the road. Apart from that, sector-in-charge and recovery van in-charge focussed on the stretch regularly.

Upon receiving a request from the people to look into the huge congestion from Hafeezpet to Gachibowli (especially near KIMS hospital), the traffic team maintained that people visiting the hospital were stopping the vehicles, leading to a slow traffic movement from Hafeezpet to Kothaguda. A notice had been served on KIMS management to deploy traffic marshals to regulate the traffic in front of the hospital. Apart from that, the management was also cautioned not to allow parking of vehicles in front of the hospital.

Meanwhile, the traffic police had also received many suggestions.

Here are the details of the actions taken by them.
