HYDERABAD: One person was killed and another injured after the bike they were riding on hit a divider and fell from the Gachibowli Biodiversity Flyover in Hyderabad on Sunday night.

According to police, a bike traveling on the flyover accidentally fell on the flyover below resulting in the death of one and the other being critically injured.

The deceased was identified as Madhu (25) a native of Medak and resident of Gachibowli. His body was shifted to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem.

Upon receiving information, the police visited the spot and examined the CCTV footage. Based on preliminary investigation, the police found out that overspeeding was the cause of the accident. The police then registered a case .

On November 23, 2019, a similar kind of accident occurred when a speeding car hit the concrete crash barrier and fell down the bridge killing a lady who was waiting for a bus. Following that incident, the authorities closed down the flyover for a while. It was reopened after additional speed breakers and signage were installed.
