Punjagutta police arrest a man, recover property worth Rs. 45 lakh

The Panjagutta Police have arrested a notorious habitual house burglary offender Mohammed Ibrahim Siddique and seized gold, diamond ornaments weighing about 753.419 grams worth about Rs.45,00,000 (forty five lakhs) from his possession.

HYDERABAD: The Panjagutta Police have arrested a notorious habitual house burglary offender Mohammed Ibrahim Siddique and seized gold, diamond ornaments weighing about 753.419 grams worth about Rs.45,00,000 (forty five lakhs) from his possession.

Mohammed Ibrahim Siddique with many alias names like Kamal Tiwari, Ibrahim Sharif, Ibrahim, Ramesh age 61 yrs presently residing in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, is a native of Ameerpet in Hyderabad.

On April 19, the police received a complaint from Ms. Sumitra Pampana, resident of Srinagar Colony in which she stated that on the intervening night of April 17 and 18, her house was burgled by some unknown offender in her absence and her gold, diamond and silver ornaments were stolen.

Soon after receiving the complaint, the Panjagutta police swung into action, formed four teams and started working on available clues. The teams watched nearly about 100 CCTV cameras up to Kukkatpally about 7 km, from scene of offence. Upon getting definite clues, the police apprehended the accused at Ameerpet.

During the course of investigation, it is revealed that the accused is a habitual housebreaker and involved in about 96 cases in Hyderabad, Cyberabad Commissionarates and other places.

A City Dossier Criminal (CDC) sheet is being maintaining by SR Nagar Police.

Earlier, he was detained under PD Act twice by the SR Nagar police.

On October 8, 2022, he was released after completed of Prevention and Detained Act period from the Cherlapally Central Prison, Then he went to Aurangabad, and settled there.

During interrogation, he confessed that in the month of February 2023, he came down to Hyderabad and committed a house burglary under police station limits and stole about 3.5 tulas gold and 2 pairs of silver anklets, the same was sold in Bidar through Mohd Muzammil of Bidar. Again on April 17, 2023, he came to Hyderabad in the midnight and conducted recci in Srinagar colony locality for locked houses and eventually he found a locked flat in Capri Towers on the 5th floor. He brought an Iron rod from the scrap and broke open the lock and entered inside the flat. Then he broke opened the Iron Almirahs in bedroom of the flat and committed theft of large quantity of gold, diamond and silver ornaments.

After committing the offence, he boarded an autorickshaw at Srinagar colony and reached Erragadda and then he boarded a bus and reached Bidar where he handed over about 15 tulas of gold ornaments and silver ornaments to Mohd. Muzammil for disposal. Then he went to Aurangabad with the remaining gold, diamond ornaments.

Today when he came to Ameerpet area for pledging the stolen gold ornaments, on receipt of reliable information, the police went there and was apprehended him and recovered the stolen gold Ornaments from his possession.

Commissioner of City Police C V Anand complimented the police officers responsible for the arrest and recovery.
