HYDERABAD: Rachakonda Commissioner of Police DS Chauhan has said that they are taking steps to ensure full-scale security for the upcoming Assembly elections and directed the officials to see that there are no lapses in the security.

In a review meeting conducted with IPS police personnel at the Uppal Traffic DCP office over the preparation for the upcoming assembly elections in the state, Commissioner Chauhan emphasized the importance of working with discipline and ensuring error-free elections.

During the meeting, the Commissioner advised officials to have a thorough understanding of all aspects related to the elections. He stressed the need for proper knowledge of polling centers under respective police stations and urged officials to take appropriate action. He advised the officials to be vigilant in identifying critical polling centers and vulnerable areas and advised to put an eye on the routes in which election equipment is transported. He said there should be coordination with other government departments.

The commissioner discussed in the meeting the installation of CC cameras at problematic polling station areas, infrastructure provision at polling stations, monitoring of individuals with a history of causing problems during previous elections, and keeping a close watch on law and order issues and social media messages that could potentially incite conflicts. The Commissioner emphasised the importance of staying alert and visiting problematic villages.
