HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh said on Thursday that he was arrested by Hyderabad city police as he prepared to participate in the Hanuman Jayanti rally from Ram Mandir, Gowliguda in his Goshamahal Constituency.

Raja Singh alleged on social media that he was detained by police despite his participation in the Hanuman Jayanti rally every year. He questioned the police and the government why he wasn't permitted to participate in the Hanuman Jayanti procession in his own constituency.

Raja Singh on Thursday stated, "I was arrested by Hyderabad police as I was about to take part in the Hanuman Jayanti rally from Ram Mandir, Gowliguda in my Goshamahal Constituency, which I do every year. I'd like to question the government and the police department why, as a Hindu, I can't even take part in the procession of Lord Hanuman, let alone in my own constituency."
