Rakshabandhan: KCR seeks blessings of elder sisters, Seethakka ties Rakhi to Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Politicians from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh celebrated Raksha Bandhan with their siblings and other their party colleagues. The festival is a symbol of the bond between brothers and sisters, and it was a time for exchanging gifts, sharing meals, and reaffirming their love and protection for each other.

In Hyderabad, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's (KCR) elder sisters Lakshmibai, Jayamma and Lalithamma and younger sister Vinodamma tied rakhi and sought his blessings at Pragathi Bhavan. KCR's wife Shobhamma was also present.

Meanwhile, Minister and BJP National General Secretary Bandi Sanjay celebrated Rakshabandhan with his sisters and media personnel in Karimnagar On the occasion, he said, "Raksha Bandhan is a festival which is celebrated for providing raksha to our dharma, society and the country. The sense of sisterhood in the country should be fostered."

State BJP chief Kishan Reddy shared that his sister visited to bless & tie Rakhi to him.

"Having sisters is one of the greatest blessings one can have," he tweeted.

Among the Congress leaders, MLA Seethakka along with Sharada, Sunita Rao and other women leaders tied rakhi to State Congress chief Revanth Reddy at his residence.

"I proudly say he is my brother," she tweeted.

In the neighbouring State of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy also celebrated the festival as Health Minister V Rajini tied a rakhi to him at his camp office in Tadepalli on Wednesday. During a visit to Irripaka in Kakinada district, several women Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and party leaders tied rakhis to the Chief Minister.

Extending rakhi pournami greetings, Jagan, in a tweet, said that he was grateful for the love they showered on him.

“I am forever grateful for the love you shower on me. I promise that I will always support you as a brother. Your welfare is the goal of our governance,” he said in a message on Twitter.

Jagan was the only politician who celebrated the festival on two days. The housekeeping women of the Chief Minister's camp office tied rakhis to Jagan on Thursday.

The TDP too organised Raksha Bandhan celebrations at its party office at Mangalagiri. Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu addressed the gathering on the occasion, and also extended greetings to the people on Twitter.

Naidu tweeted that he had announced a programme called Mahasakthi with the aim of making women self-reliant and successful.
