HYDERABAD: Parts of Hyderabad city which was reeling under severe heat conditions, might get respite with the IMD forecasting five days of clouded weather with intermittent and scattered rains.

Rains are expected in all five zones of the city starting from Sunday till Thursday. The weather will be partly cloudy with light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds (30-40kmph) that could occur during evening or nighttime.

Meanwhile, the state of Telangana witnessed varying temperatures on Sunday, with Nizamabad registering 41.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Hyderabad at 40 degrees Celsius, Ramagundam at 39.6 degrees Celsius, Adilabad at 34.2 degrees Celsius, and Khammam at 30 degrees Celsius.

Forecast for Telangana on Tuesday will be a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal,Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad,Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri,Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthi, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.

Heavy thunderstorm alert for AP

A massive thunderstorm alert was announced for parts of Rayalaseema. A storm forming in Kadapa and also Annamayya districts. The Tadipatri - Pulivendla - Rayachoti belt will move directly into many parts of Anantapur and Sathya Sai districts on Sunday evening. The IMD forecasted heavy rains along the way in Rayalaseema districts till Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the AP Disaster Management Authority issued a lightning warning to areas in Prakasam, Nandyal, Kurnool, YSR, and Annamayya districts. People were advised not to venture out and to stay indoors
