HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy has come down heavily on Medchal MLA and Minister for Labour and Employment Ch Malla Reddy for encroaching on the Government lands in the constituency and ignoring development.

Addressing a ‘Vijayabheri Yatra’ at Jawahar Nagar in Medchal constituency here on Thursday, Revanth Reddy alleged that Malla Reddy had encroached on Government land in Jawahar Nagar and constructed a hospital to fleece the poor. “What has Malla Reddy done for the constituency after representing as an MP and MLA? How many of you received double bedroom or house sites as per GO 59,” Revanth Reddy said, and added that police and revenue officials demolished the houses of the poor in the name of encroachments.

Accusing Malla Reddy of selling tickets, the TPCC president said that be it an MPTC, sarpanch or councilor seat, the Medchal MLA earned crores of rupees and evidence in this regard was also in the public domain. Despite allegations about Malla Reddy, BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) is still fielding him in Medchal. “How many crores did KCR have taken from Malla Reddy for his candidature in Medchal? Why is he remaining a mute spectator on ticket selling issues? Both KCR and Malla Reddy are thieves who came to steal the lands in the locality and deceive the people,” Revanth Reddy said.

Launching a scathing attack on the BRS, Revanth Reddy said that KCR or his son Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao (KTR) had done nothing for Jawahar Nagar except for establishing a dumping yard. “People residing in and around the locality are facing a tough time to inhale the foul smell emanating from the dumping yard. The Congress filed a complaint with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) appealing to protect the locality from environmental pollution and even knocked on the court doors. So far, no action has been taken by the BRS Government in identifying a permanent solution to the dumping yard issue,” he said.

Taking potshots at KTR, Revanth Reddy said that the IT and Industries Minister had utterly failed in keeping his promise of an IT park in Jawahar Nagar. Instead of bringing IT companies to Jawahar Nagar, the BRS Government had established a dumping yard and encouraged land encroachments in the locality, he said.

The TPCC president also alleged that KCR and his family purchased hundreds of acres of land in and around Kokapet, where several IT companies were functioning. With this, one acre of land in Kokapet was sold for Rs 100 crore and the land in Medchal was not even sold for Rs 10 crore per acre which proved a testament of the BRS Government’s commitment towards the development of the constituency, he added.

Revanth Reddy appealed to the people to elect Congress candidate Thotakuri Vajresh Yadav with a majority of 25,000 votes in the coming elections and the Congress Government would bring IT companies to Medchal and generate employment opportunities for the youth in the constituency.
