HYDERABAD: In a shocking incident, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA G Lasya Nanditha,38, died in a road accident in the early hours of Friday.
Lasya Nanditha’s car lost control and hit a railing on the ORR near Patancheruvu. While she died on the spot, her vehicle driver was grievously injured.
Nanditha is the daughter of the late MLA G Sayanna. The BRS fielded her from the Secunderabad a Cantonment Assembly constituency in the 2023 Assembly elections. She defeated BJP nominee by 17,169 votes.
Several leaders expressed their shock over the demise of the MLA at a young age.
It is said that the MLA met with the accident while in her way to Saraswati Temple in Basara and her family members were also travelling in another car.
BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed his shock over the death of the party MLA. He said the party would stand by the family of Nanditha.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed shock at the death of the MLA in the accident.
“The untimely death of Cantonment legislator Lasya Nandita left me deeply shocked. I had a close asssociation with Nanditha's father the late Sayanna. He passed away in the same month last year. It is very sad that Nanditha also died suddenly in the same month.”
BRS working president K T Rama Rao took to “X” and said: “This was about a week ago. Just now heard the absolutely tragic & shocking news that Lasya is no more !!” Woke up to the devastating loss of the young legislator who was a very good leader in the making. My heartfelt prayers for strength to her family and friends in this terrible & difficult time 🙏My deepest condolences to their family...I pray to God to rest her soul in peace.”
Former Finance Minister T Harish Rao expressed his school over the death of Lasya Nanditha in the road accident.
Several former Ministers including Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy, and others also expressed their shock and grief at the death of the MLA.
BRS MLC Kavitha visited the body and paid homage to the departed legislator. She recalled her services to the people of the Cantonment constituency.
