HYDERABAD: The Student Federation of India (SFI)-led alliance clinched a massive victory in the students' union election at Hyderabad Central University for the year 2023-24 and bagged all the office bearer posts.

According to the SFI state committee, Mohammad Atiq Ahmed from SFI won as president with a majority of 471 votes. He garnered 1,880 votes while his rivals Sheikh Ayesha from ABVP polled 1,409 votes, Umesh Ambedkar from ASD polled 424 votes and Amal Josh Philip from NSUI polled 345 votes.

The SFI union also won the vice-president post with Jali Akash from the SFI alliance partner ASA with a majority of 388 votes by bagging 1,671 votes He surpassed Tarun from ABVP who received 1,283 votes, Rania Julaika from ASD polled 729 votes and Mukund Kumar from NSUI polled 253 votes.

Deepak Kumar Arya, the SFI alliance partner ASA candidate, won the post of general secretary with a majority of 480 votes, garnering 1,765 votes. He defeated Rajesh Pilla from ABVP who polled 1285 votes, Anji from ASD was polled 432 votes, and Sriram Yadav from NSUI was polled 384 votes.

Lavudi Balanjaneyu, the SFI alliance partner TSF candidate, won the post of assistant secretary with 1775 votes, defeating Rathod Vasanth Kumar from ABVP who got 1134 votes, Shakti Razwar from ASD polled 421 votes, and Chandan Dhawar from NSUI polled 296 votes. He won with a majority of 641 votes.

For the post of culture secretary, Shamim Akhtar Sheikh from the SFI alliance partner ASA won with 452 votes, amassing 1656 votes by defeating Antony Basamathari from ABVP who polled 1204 votes, Srida from NSUI with 519 votes, and Ch. Shilpa from ASD with 416 votes.

Atul, the SFI candidate, won the post of sports secretary with a majority of 236 votes. He got 1642 votes while his opponents, Jwala Prasad from ABVP had 1406 votes, Mohammad Nadran from NSUI 491 votes, and D. Shiva Kumar from ASD 409 votes.

On the other hand, SFI candidate Nandana Palikil won in the GS Cash Intrigue category against ABVP candidate Vinsika. The SFI candidate K. Pooja defeated ABVP candidate Aruna in the GS Cash (PG) category. The ASA candidate Soumya KP from the SFI alliance won in the GS Cash (Research) category against ABVP candidate Pavana.
