HYDERABAD: In a most tragic incident Siasat Urdu daily managing editor Zaheeruddin Ali Khan passed away at the procession of revolutionary balladeer Gaddar’s cremation in Alwal on Monday due to cardiac arrest.

Zaheeruddin Ali Khan who suffered a massive cardiac arrest and collapsed at the procession while the people nearby recognised him and offered him drinking water. Few others carried him to the nearby footpath and tried to resuscitate him.

He started vomiting and became unconscious while others tried to perform CPR on his chest. He was rushed to a hospital nearby where he was declared dead.

Meanwhile, family members informed that the funeral prayer would be held after ‘Fajr” (early morning prayers) at Shahi Masjid, Public Gardens on Tuesday. He will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard, Aakhirat Manzil, Darussalam Road, Nampally.

In his condolence message, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that the demise of Zahiruddin Ali Khan was a big loss to the field of Urdu journalism. The Chief Minister remembering the service of the departed managing editor of Siasat offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President and IT Minister KT Rama Rao condoled the death of Zahiruddin Ali Khan and offered his condolences to the bereaved family.
