HYDERABAD: As many as six children have been seriously injured, with two of them in critical condition after stray dogs attacked them in Shamshabad on Friday.

The injured children were identified as Moulana (10), Meeraj (3), Muskan (13), Naira (6), and Azam (3) were playing outside in the colony and were attacked by the dogs leaving their parents in deep concern.

The parents later shifted their children to Osmania Hospital for treatment. They expressed their ire over the authorities for not taking steps to end the dogs menace in the city.

However, this incident is not the first of its kind, as a similar attack occurred in Maduranagar in the past, where six people were also attacked by stray dogs.It maybe recalled that dog attack killed a four-year-old but in the city a few months ago.

City Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, who was heavily trolled for the rampant dog attacks, had discussed with officials the immediate steps to be taken at that time. The GHMC took a serious note of the series of dog bite incidents.
