HYDERABAD: Meridian School in Banjara Hills of Hyderabad came in for sharp criticism for negligence after a class XI student was hospitalised following electrocution on the school premises on Friday.

According to reports, the incident occurred during the lunch break, when the student, identified as Hasan, accidentally came in contact with the electric fencing installed on the compound wall. The victimis studying class XI in the school. The seriously injured student was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Anxious parents of Hasan rushed to school on knowing about the incident. They expressed their anger against the school management for its negligence and squarely blamed it for the incident.

Later, the victim's parents lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police over the incident and asked them to take the necessary action against the school management. The police suspect that the mishap occurred due to some iron rods placed near the transformer. Further details of the incident are awaited.
