HYDERABAD: Several parts of Hyderabad witnessed a sudden downpour on Saturday, resulting in a sharp drop in the day temperature. The rain began around noon and continued for two hours.

Several areas, including Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Nallagandla, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Chandanagar, Miyapur and other parts of Hyderabad witnessed a sudden downpour. For the last few days, the city had not been experiencing rain, but the scattered rain came as a much-needed relief for the residents.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are very likely to occur in isolated places in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts of Telangana on Sunday.

The IMD also forecasted light to moderate rain or thunderstorms occurring in isolated places in Telangana for next five days.

Taking to Twitter, T Balaji, popularly known as Telangana Weatherman, said, "Scattered rains are triggered across Mancherial, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. Isolated-scattered rains are also expected in Hyderabad."
