HYDERABAD: It's not even April yet, and several districts in Telangana, including Hyderabad, have already reached temperatures of 40°C, with forecasts indicating a further rise in heat over the next few days, as per weather experts.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), on March 23, the highest temperatures in Telangana were recorded in Nirmal and Nalgonda districts at 41 degrees Celsius. This was followed by Adilabad district at 40.9 degrees Celsius, Jayashankar Bahupally district also at 40.9 degrees Celsius, and Nizamabad, Suryapet, and Jagital districts at 40.8 degrees Celsius. Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded a temperature of 40.7 degrees Celsius whereas Mahabubabad recorded 40.6 degrees Celsius.

Uppal area in Hyderabad experienced the highest temperature at 40.7 degrees Celsius, followed by Marredpally and Nampally areas at 40.4 degrees Celsius. Shaikpet and Qutubullapur recorded temperatures of 40.1 degrees Celsius, while Kukatpally saw 40 degrees Celsius. Secunderabad registered 39.8 degrees Celsius, and Khairatabad recorded 39.4 degrees Celsius.

The forecast for Telangana indicates dry weather for the next three days, with maximum temperatures ranging from 37 to 40 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

According to TSDPS, Hyderabad is anticipated to experience dry weather over the next three days, with maximum temperatures ranging from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius, and minimum temperatures ranging from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

T. Balaji, the Telangana Weatherman, said that summer-like heat has resumed to the entire Telangana region, including Hyderabad, since March 22, 2024. The 40°C streak has resumed in Telangana including Hyderabad. Heat to further increase in coming days. Not much rains expected in the next 7-10 days."
