HYDERABAD: Telangana Assembly speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated a Kanti Velugu camp on the Assembly premises. He underwent the eye examination along with Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy and others. He also indulged in a bit of light-hearted banter with Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy for failing to read the text in the final phase saying that he was younger than the latter.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Reddy said that the Kanti Velugu programme was a great scheme, which sets an example for the country. He said that initiative was beneficial for the poor as they could not go to distant places for a check-up. The Speaker advised the people and legislators to make use of the camp being organised on the Assembly premises.

Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhendar Reddy also underwent eye examination and faced difficulties in reading the text in the final round. However, he advised the people and the members of the Assembly and the Council to go for a checkup.
