Ten injured as Bairamalguda flyover slab collapses in LB Nagar

As many as 10 people were injured, four of them critically, after Bairamalguda flyover slab collapsed on Wednesday morning at Sagar Ring Road in LB Nagar, while ramp works were going on the pillars.

HYDERABAD: As many as 10 people were injured, four critically, after Bairamalguda flyover slab collapsed in the wee hours on Wednesday at Sagar Ring Road in LB Nagar while ramp works were going on the pillars.

The injured were identified as Rohit Kumar (25), Puneeth Kumar (25), Shankar Lal (25), Ravi Kumar (26) belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Jitender Kumar (26), Hareram (22), Vicky Kumar (23) from Bihar. The engineer Gopala krishna 29, hailing from Ranga Reddy district was also among the injured.

The GHMC, and NDRF personnel, upon knowing about the incident, arrived at the incident site and started rescue operations. They shifted the injured to the KIMS hospital for the treatment in NDRF vehicles.

However, a major accident was averted as there was not much movement of passengers under the flyover at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, LB Nagar MLA Sudhir Reddy reached the scene and inquired about the accident.

The Commissioner of GHMC clarified in a tweet that: “A small part of clover collapsed during construction of BairamalgudaFlyoverRamp. 8 injured & shifted to KIMS for treatment. Detailed enquiry will be on & action will be initiated if necessary. Situation is under control, GHMC assures citizens not to worry as it is being taken care.”
