Tollywood actor Navdeep appears before ED for questioning in drug trafficking case

The ED would question the actor regarding the 2017 Tollywood drug trafficking case to probe the money laundering angle with that of the latest one

HYDERABAD: Tollywood actor Navdeep Pallapolu appeared at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office on Tuesday where he was summoned for questioning in the drug scandal. On October 6, the ED had summoned Navdeep and asked him to report for an inquiry. So far, Navdeep had failed to appear before the ED twice after notices were served upon him.

The Telangana State Anti Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) had recently interrogated Navdeep after a case registered at Gudimalkapur police station. Police investigations revealed that that the actor was in touch with Nigerian drug peddlers.

The ED would question the actor regarding the 2017 Tollywood drug trafficking case to probe the money laundering angle with that of the latest one. Apart from that, the ED would also carry out a detailed inquiry into the transactions with the drug suppliers and verify Navdeep’s bank account.

On September 23, the TSNAB team headed by SP D Sunita Reddy grilled Navdeep for almost six hours to inquire about his relationship with drug supplier Ram Chand, film financier K Venkatratna Reddy and Devarakonda Suresh Rao, son from former MP D Vittal Rao who were arrested in the Gudimalkapur drug case.
