HYDERABAD: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and AICC General Secretary Digvijaya Singh unveiled a book penned by CWC member N Raghuveera Reddy and former MP KVP Ramachandra Rao named “Rythu Rajaithe Vyavasayam Panduge” in Hyderabad on the occasion of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy'a fourteenth death anniversary in the presence of senior Congress leaders in a program at Daspalla hotel.

Speaking on the occasion, Digvijaya Singh made interesting comments lauding the efforts of YS Rajasekhar Reddy to the Congress party. Stating that he had learned many things from YSR, the AICC leader said that the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh is responsible for the formation of the UPA Govt by contributing a maximum number of MPs from the state.

He credited YS Rajasekhar Reddy with implementing the free power to agriculture and Aarogyasri along with many other welfare schemes and development schemes that showed the path of progress and inspired other states.

Digvijaya Singh went on to say that the situation of the Telugu-speaking states would have been different, had YS Rajasekhar Reddy been alive.

During the event, TPCC President Revanth Reddy, who had always criticised YSR and spoken ill of his demise in Paviralagutta, made a volte face from his avowed anti-YSR stand. He used to attribute motives to YSR while launching tirade against YS Jagan a few years ago.

He, however, paid rich encomiums to YS Rajasekhar Reddy, describing him as a generation himself and a role model.

He highlighted that YS Rajasekhar Reddy became the PCC president at a young age of 34, setting an example for everyone.

Revanth Reddy also mentioned that YS Rajasekhar Reddy had patiently waited for 20 years to become the Chief Minister and appreciated the latter for his pleasant manner in responding to Opposition members with a smile and his support for young leaders. Revanth Reddy acknowledged KVP as the only one who continued YS Rajasekhar Reddy's ambitions.

Revanth Reddy assured that the aspirations of YS Rajasekhar Reddy would be implemented after the Congress came to power in Telangana.

Telangana CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, Justice B Sudarshan Reddy, Palagummi Sainath, Undavalli Arun Kumar, CPI Narayana, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Jeevan Reddy, Shabbir Ali, Chinna Reddy, Kodanda Reddy were among those who participated in the event.
