HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced the suspension of T-9 tickets temporarily due to unexpected rise in number of passengers during Rakhi Purnima. TSRTC Chairman MLA Bajireddy Govardhan and the company MD VC Sajjanar, IPS, made the announcement.

TSRTC had introduced two types of T-9 tickets for passengers traveling in Palle Velugu buses. One was T-9-60 ticket for a 60-km range and priced at Rs. 100 and the other was T-9-30 ticket for a 30-km range which costed Rs. 50.

However, the decision to suspend T-9 tickets temporarily had come in the wake of the expected high number of passengers during the Rakhi Porrnami festival. The TSRTC said that the T-9 tickets were suspended as the process of issuing T-9 tickets requires entering passenger details such as gender and age into the machines and was time-consuming.

It said that suspension would be in effect for four days and would resume as usual from September 2.
