SECUNDERABAD: A five-year-old boy was kidnapped from Secunderabad railway station in Hyderabad on Friday, leaving his parents in distress. The victim is identified as Shiva Sai hailing from Medak.

Mangali Durgesh, a resident of Rayalapuram village in Medak district, recently went to Tirupati with his five-year-old son Shiva Sai, who is hearing and speech impaired. They returned to Secunderabad Railway Station on September 28.

Upon their arrival at the station at 5:30 am, Durgesh rested at the station as he was tired. In the evening, Durgesh placed his son near their luggage on platform number 1 and went to the washroom. However, when he returned, he discovered that his son was missing.

Durgesh immediately approached the Government Railway Police (GRP), who examined the CCTV footage and identified a couple taking the boy away. A case was registered, and the police have initiated a search for the missing child.

The police, as part of the preliminary investigation, suspected that it could be the handiwork of the begging mafia.

However, by the afternoon on Saturday, Police found the boy under the Cyber Tower flyover in very bad health condition. The kidnappers apparently left him under the bridge with the police tightening their dragnet. The police rushed the boy to the Secunderabad Railway Hospital.
