HYDERABAD: Hyderabad city police apprehended two people on Saturday for fraudulently selling spurious medicines worth Rs. 29, 72, 850 near Kamala Hospital in Dilsukh Nagar, Hyderabad.
The police also seized a large quantity of unlicensed spurious medicines from their possessions. Based on reliable information, the Commissioner's Task Force, South West Zone Team, Drugs Inspector, Malakpet Zone, Hyderabad, and PS Malakpet team arrested two accused individuals, Pocala Ramesh and Beerely Raghava Reddy, on July 22, 2023.
They were allegedly involved in and selling allegedly counterfeit medicines without a valid licence or permission near the Kamala Hospital in Dilsukh Nagar, Hyderabad.
According to the authorities, Pocala Ramesh and Beerely Raghava Reddy used to be in the real estate sector, but after suffering a large loss, they devised a plan to launch an illegal medical business.
Both of them met Nadeem from Uttar Pradesh and Arun Choudary from Delhi State, who transports fake medicine in several states by courier without valid bills and documentation by concealing it in garments shipment.
On July 20, 2023, Pocala Ramesh and Beerely Raghava Reddy were nabbed outside Kamala Hospital in Dilsukh Nagar, Hyderabad, while selling fake medicines to needy customers.
