Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu: Hyderabad police impose traffic diversions on July 8, 9, 10

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad traffic police imposed restrictions in Secunderabad in view of the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Jatara from July 8-July 9, 2023, until the final day of the Jatara on July 10, 2023.

Hyderabad traffic police has requested the general public to avoid the roads and junctions of Karbala Maidan, Ranigunj, Old PS Ramgopalpet, Paradise, CTO, Plaza, SBI X Road, YMCA X Roads, St. Johns Rotary, Sangeeth X Road, Patny X Road, Park Lane, Bata, Ghasmandi X Roads, Bible House, Ministers Road, and Rasoolpura from 12 a.m. on July 8-92023 to till completion of Jatara on July 10, 2023.

General travellers planning to travel by train from Secunderabad railway station were advised to leave early in order to arrive on schedule. There could be traffic congestion entering Secunderabad Railway Station from the Platform No. 1 side; thus, the public is advised to enter from Platform No. 10 of Secunderabad Railway Station from the Chilkalguda side. There could be traffic congestion within a 2-kilometer radius of the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad.

Roads to avoid on July 8-9 till completion of Jatara on July 10, 2023

The road leading to Mahankali Temple from Tobacco Bazar, Hill Street would be closed for all vehicular traffic.

Subash Road starting from Bata X roads up to old Ramgopalpet PS, Secunderabad would be closed for all vehicular traffic.

The road leading to Mahankali Temple from Audaiah X Roads Secunderabad would be closed for all vehicular traffic.

The road leading to Mahankali Temple from General Bazar Secunderabad would be closed for all vehicular traffic.

Diversion Points

Ranigunj X roads towards Secunderabad Railway Station

1. General traffic and RTC buses travelling from Karbala Maidan to Secunderabad railway station would be detoured at Ranigunj x roads to Minister Road-Rasoolpura x roads. - Left turn - P N T Fly over - HPS U turn - CTO-SBI X roads - YMCA X roads - St.John's Rotary - Sangeeth - Gopalapuram Lane-Railway Station.

2. RTC Buses return from Railway Station towards Tank bund would pass through Chilkalguda X Road, Gandhi Hospital – Musheerabad X Road – Kavadiguda – Marriot Hotel – Tankbund.

3. RTC Buses return from Railway Station towards Tadban and Begumpet would pass through Clock Tower–Patny X Roads/ YMCAX road–SBI X Roads.

Ghasmandi X roads

4. General Traffic coming from Bible house going towards Secunderabad Railway Station, Trimulghery would be diverted at Ghasmandi x roads towards Sajjanlal Street, Secunderabad railway station or Hill street, Ranigunj.

Patny X roads

i) General Traffic coming from SBI X Roads towards Tankbund will be diverted at Patny X roads towards Paradise, Minister Road or Clock Tower, Sangeeth X Road - Secunderabad Railway station, Chilkalguda, Musheerabad X Road – Kavadiguda – Marriot Hotel – Tankbund.

ii) General Traffic coming from Paradise towards Bible house would be diverted at Patny X Roads towards SBI or Clock Tower.

iii) General Traffic coming from Clock Tower towards R.P.Road would be diverted at Patny X roads towards SBI X roads or Paradise.

Paradise X roads

i) General Traffic coming from CTO Junction towards M.G.Road will be diverted at Paradise X roads towards – Sindhi Colony – Right turn – Minister Road – Left turn - Ranigunj X roads –Right turn – Karbala Maidan. Traffic coming from Patny X roads would be diverted at Paradise x roads towards CTO Junction.

To and fro towards /from Secunderabad Railway Station (For Railway Passengers)

From Punjagutta to Secunderabad Railway Station, use the Panjagutta-Khairtabad Junction-IMAX Rotary-Telugu thalli flyover-Lower Tank bund-RTC X Road-Musherabad X Road- Gandhi Hospital-Chilakalguda X Road-Platform No.10 access to Secunderabad Railway Station route and vice versa.

Secunderabad Railway Station - Old Gandhi X Roads - Manda Market - Ghasmandi - Bible House - Karbala Maidan - Tankbund, and vice versa.

Do not use roads from Secunderabad Railway Station to Patny –Paradise Junction – Begumpet – Punjagutta as they would be congested.

To from Uppal towards Punjagutta

i. Use road from Uppal – Ramanthapur – Amberpet – Himayathnagar – Khairtabad Junction – Punjagutta.

ii. Don’t use the road between Uppal – Tarnaka – Rail Nilayam- Sangeeth YMCA – Plaza – Begumpet – Panjagutta as it would be heavily xongested.

The Road between Secunderabad Railway Station towards St.Mary’s road / Clock tower would be closed for all vehicular traffic.

All buses proceeding towards Secunderabad Railway Station from Hakeempet, Bowenpally, Balanagar and Ameerpet would be terminated at Clock Tower and they would return to their destinations on the same route via Patny, SBI X Road.

Parking Places for Devotees

Vehicles arriving from St.Johns Rotary, Sweekar Upkar, and SBI will park at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan.

Vehicles arriving from St.Johns Rotary, Sweekar Upkar, and SBI will park at Mahabub College/SVIT College.

Vehicles coming from Subhash Roadside shall park in the open space at Old Jail Khana.

Vehicles arriving from Karbla Maidan, Bible House, and Ghansmandi would be parked at Islamia High School.

Vehicles arriving from Ranigunj and Audaiah X Roads would park at Govt. Audaiah Memorial High School, Audaiah X Roads, Ranigunj, Secunderabad.

CTO, Balamrai would park vehicles coming from Rasoolpura near the Mahatma Gandhi Statue, M.G Road (Limits of Tr. PS Begumpet).

Vehicles coming from St.Johns Rotary, Sweekar Upkar, and SBH would be parked at the Belson Taj Hotel.

Vehicles coming from the Manju Theatre side would be parked at the Anjali Theatre lane. Those visiting Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Jatara are advised to check the google maps for parking options.

Due to the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Jatara, all roads and junctions within a 2-kilometer radius of the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad would be extremely congested from 12 a.m. on July 8-9, 2023, until the completion of the Jatara on July 10, 2023.
