UKG student dies as teacher hits with slate for not doing homework

HYDERABAD: A kindergarten student died after a teacher allegedly beat him over the head with a slate in an Uppal school for failing to do his homework.

According to the police, Hemanth, a 5-year-old boy, was enrolled in the UKG class at a private school in Ramanthapur.

The teacher was annoyed after she discovered the boy had not completed his homework and hit his head with a slate.

The boy collapsed and was brought to a nearby hospital, where he died on Monday while receiving medical treatment. The incident came to light after Hemanth's family members staged a protest at the school and demanded that the school administration be held accountable.

The deceased's parents and relatives transported the body to their native village for the funeral. Further investigation is underway.
