US Consulate celebrated 10 years: American Corners to familiarise US culture to Indians

HYDERABAD: US Consulate General Hyderabad celebrated the 10th anniversary of the American Corner at the St. Francis College for Women in Hyderabad on Wednesday. They also re-opened the facility after an extensive renovation on the occasion.

The event was attended by US Consul General Jennifer Larson, St Francis College for Women principal, Dr Uma Joseph, students, and senior members of the college management. Initially opened at St Francis College for Women in 2013, the American Corner Hyderabad reached an important milestone this year, marking a decade of enriching educational and cultural exchanges.

Speaking on the occasion, Jennifer Larson emphasized the significance of American Corners, stating, "The purpose of our American Corners is to provide a place for Indians of all ages to come together, learn about the United States and our culture, and help us build stronger ties between our two countries, " she said. She also expressed gratitude to St Francis College for their unwavering support for the Corner since 2013.

Uma Joseph expressed her pride in the strategic partnership with the American Consulate. "In the last ten years, we have accomplished significant milestones together, benefiting the cause of women and students in the city. We invite students and professionals to visit the American Corner, participate in events, and gain accurate information about the United States," she said.
