Van driver falls sick, alert cop saves lives of 16 ABVP protesters in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A major accident was averted and 16 people ABVP activists were saved after a vigilant Sub Inspector of Police prevented the DCM truck from overturning in Khairtabad, Hyderabad.

According to reports, as many as sixteen ABVP activists called for a rally and attempted to seize Pragati Bhavan. The activists were arrested and ferried in a DCM vehicle to the Banjara Hills police station via Khairatabad.

However that, when the DCM truck approached Khairatabad, the driver began to experience seizures, prompting the vehicle to crash with the divider.

Banjara Hills Sub Inspector S Karunakar Reddy, who was in the rear seat and was alarmed, responded swiftly and jumped from the vehicle to control it, preventing a major accident.

Banjara Hills CI Karuna Sagar, Constable Sai Kumar, and Home Guard Ramesh assisted Sub Inspector S Karunakar Reddy in rescuing the 16 people. The cops who were injured are being treated at Yashoda Hospital.
