Vijay Deverakonda's fans file complaint against defamation of Family Star on social media

HYDERABAD: The fans association of Tollywood actor Vijay Deverakonda lodged a complaint with the Madhapur cybercrime police station on Sunday alleging defamation and spreading malicious propaganda about the movie Family Star on social media.

Family Star, starring Vijay Devarakonda, has recently hit screens and is garnering success, particularly among family audiences. Sri Venkateswara Creations, the production house, has alleged that certain individuals and social media groups are actively working to undermine the success of 'Family Star' and tarnish Vijay Devarakonda's reputation. The team alleged that negative posts about the movie surfaced even before its release.

Vijay Devarakonda's personal manager, Anurag Parvataneni, and the president of Vijay Devarakonda's fans association, Nishant Kumar, visited Madhapur cybercrime police station on Sunday and filed a complaint against the culprits. They provided social media screenshots and information about relevant groups and accounts as evidence.

The complaint alleged that certain individuals are deliberately misleading potential audiences interested in watching the movie by engaging in negative publicity, thereby impacting its box office performance. Following the receipt of the complaint and preliminary evidence, the police have assured an investigation and the apprehension of the culprits.

Vijay's team has alleged that it appears some individuals are conducting negative social media campaigns against Vijay's movies out of animosity towards him.

The team further claimed that even audiences who have watched the film are opposing these negative ads by promoting its positive qualities on channels such as YouTube and social media, affirming its quality.
