Denizens can walk into the Hussain Sagar lake on a pivoted bridge fitted at the bank of the bank in a newly developed park in an area of 10 acres.

HYDERABAD: A novel experience awaits Hyderabadis. Denizens can walk into the Hussain Sagar on a pivoted bridge fitted at the bank of the lake in a newly developed park in an area of 10 acres.

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao on Tuesday announced this on ‘X’. He will be inaugurating the park soon.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has developed a park in an area of 10 acres on the Necklace Road side of the lake.

The park will be a major tourist attraction and a hangout place for the people of Hyderabad.

The park has all the facilities including a walking track amid lush green environs.The major components includes four elevated walkways each measuring up to 110m, with a cantilever jetty (15m) for viewpoint into the lake, 2m wide curvilinear (wave) walkway of 240 m length and 2 metres wide qalkway of 690 m length connecting all components in the park. The pivoted bridge protruding into the lake a few metres gives a unique experience to the visitors.

The architectural elements includes pavilions, promenade area (this area abutting shore area of Hussain Sagar), Panchatatva walkway, central pathway, under passes etc. The lake front park has been developed with rich landscape featuring exotic varieties of about four lakh plants along with bar coding name boards of the plants, which is being introduced for the first time by the HMDA.

The expenditure incurred for the development of the lake front park was Rs 22 crore for civil, electrical works and Rs. 4.65 crore for landscape greenery works. The park would be open to public from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM with an entry cost of Rs. 10/- for children , Rs. 50/- for adults and Rs100/- per month for morning walkers .

The banks surrounding the iconic Hussain Sagar have many an attraction that make the city proud and elegant. From the age-old Sanjeevaiah Park to tall National Flag post, from Thrill City to P V Gyan Bhumi, Jalvihar, People’s Plaza, the Indira Gandhi statues, PV Narasimha Rao statue, elegant Telangana Secretary, tallest 125-foot statue and museum of Dr B R Ambedkar, Telangana Martyrs Memorial in the shape of a Ddya, the beautifully-decked up Tank Bund Road have all added glory to the grandeur of Hussain Sagar.

The minister in his post on ‘X’ said: “A brand new addition to central Hyderabad around the famous Hussain Sagar 😊

@HMDA_Gov has developed this beautiful Lake Front Park next to Jalavihar in about 10 acres

Will be inaugurating the park in a few days. Hope you all will visit and enjoy the beautiful Boardwalk.”

It will soon be open to public, said Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Arvind Kumar. He said TG e- project had cost Rs. 26 crore.
