3 killed, 2 severely injured in lorry-car collision in Khammam district

KHAMMAM: Three persons were killed on the spot while two others grievously injured in a ghastly road accident in Khammam district on Friday. The mishap occurred when a lorry collided with a car at Pinapaka of Wyra mandal in Khammam district.

The victims were identified as residents of Lakyathanda of Kallur mandal under Sathupally Assembly constituency. According to eyewitness accounts, the lorry that collided with the car dragged the latter to a certain distance, resulting in the fatalities.

The police shifted the injured to a hospital in Khammam for treatment. The condition of both the persons injured was stated to be critical. The police registered a case and are investigating.
