HYDERABAD: The Petbasheerabad police have arrested three persons for theft of bikes and cell phones and recovered eight two-wheelers and 15 mobile phones, all worth about Rs 6 lakhs.

According to the police, the accused, Sajid Shake (23), Kamble Tukaram (19) and Dudekula Mohin (24), would go around residential areas during unearthly hours in Petbasheerabad PS limits and steal vehicles parked in front of houses and wine shops. They used to follow the modus operandi of dislocating the head machine lock and joining the ignition wires to start the bikes. They also stole phones from the windows of houses and hostels.

The police appealed to citizens to keep their vehicles in secure parking spots and lock them properly. They urged people to install CCTVs wherever possible to preempt such offences.
