30 people injured as bus collides with lorry in Annamayya district
A bus carrying 30 passengers was hit by a lorry in Annamayya district, resulting in multiple injuries.
AMARAVATI: Thirty people were injured when the bus they were travelling in was hit by a lorry near Medarapalli checkpoint in Annamayya district on Tuesday. The RTC bus, carrying 30 passengers, collided with a cement-laden lorry while passing through Ramapuram Mandal.
The injured passengers were immediately rushed to government hospitals in Kadapa and Rayachoti by the police. Traffic was disrupted as both the bus and the lorry were wedged together following the collision. Authorities deployed a JCB to remove the vehicles and restore traffic flow in the area.
This incident follows a fatal road accident in Chittoor district that claimed eight lives, highlighting growing concerns about road safety in Andhra Pradesh.
