4 of family killed as tempo traveller slides off bridge into stream in Bhadradri district

KHAMMAM: At least four persons of a family were killed while eight others sustained injuries when a tempo traveller skidded off a bridge and fell into the empty Kinnerasani stream in Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana on Wednesday evening. The mishap occurred near Burgampadu when a group of six elders and six children were returning home after a darshan at the Sitharamachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam.

All the passengers in the tempo traveller belong to the same family that hails from Tirumaladevi Peta of T Narasapuram mandal in Eluru district of the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. The deceased were identified as Durga Rao (40), Srinivasa Rao (35), Pradeep (10) and Sandeep (12). Durga Rao and Srinivasa Rao were declared brought dead at the Burgampadu Government Hospital. The Burgampadu police initiated rescue operations and shifted the injured to Burgampadu Government Hospital.
