9 yr-old-girl choked to death by rolled-up car window glass in Nalgonda

NALGONDA: In a freak accident, a nine-year-old girl was choked to death while peeping outside in a car after the driver unintentionally rolled up the window glass in Nalgonda. The incident happened at Bojjagudem village on Monday during a wedding ceremony.

According to the police, the marriage of one Bhukya Kotya's daughter was performed in the village on Monday. After the wedding, Banoth Indraja (9), the victim, accompanied the newlywed couple in their car and was enjoying the revelry along with the couple by leaning out of the car window.

Shekar, the car driver, who was unaware of the girl’s posture, suddenly pressed the power button to close the window glass. As the glass rolled up quickly, the girl’s neck was stuck between the glass and the car window resulting in the death of the girl due to suffocation.

Based on a complaint lodged by Banoth Venkateshwarlu, the father of the deceased, the Nalgonda police have registered a case and are investigating.
