HYDERABAD: North Zone police on Wednesday arrested a suspect in the heinous murder of 23-year-old real estate agent Dipendu Biswas.

The accused and the deceased were childhood friends from Manipur State. The deceased's family moved to Hyderabad four years ago and was staying in Addagutta, where they work as construction labourers. After marrying Shilpi, the accused moved to Hyderabad and lived near the house of Dipendu.

The accused, Priyajith Namasudra, repeatedly warned Dipendu Biswas about the illegal relationship between him and Priyajith's wife. Priyajith decided to kill Dipendu because he would not mend his ways.

On July 25,2022, under the pretext of consuming alcohol, the duo went to the Trimurthy Colony house that was still under construction. When m Priyajit hit Dipendu on the head with a wooden block while he was drunk. Dipendu died instantly. Priyajith and his wife escaped to their hometown as soon as the crime was committed.

Tukramgate police filed a missing person's report and launched an investigation based on a complaint by the sister of the deceased. The police received information about the discovery of a male body from an under construction apartment. Soon, the police altered the sections from a missing to 302, 201 IPC and took up further investigation.

Based on the location of the accused, a team rushed to Jiribham (D) of Manipur State and apprehended the accused and brought to Hyderabad on transit warrant. After thorough investigation, the accused is being produced before the Court.
